Wodonga Debuts Golf Room Sport Simulator

Family-run business The Golf Room has become the go-to destination for golfing leisure or professional pursuits, where players can let loose on their swing without ending up in the rough.

Laura Smith and her husband Aaron Koch co-own this exciting new local business with Aaron's cousin Trent and his wife Belinda, opening its doors in August and bringing a world-class golfing experience to the Wodonga community.

"From day one the support from locals has been incredible. It's been fantastic welcoming golfers and the wider community into the space," revealed Laura, the business's General Manager.

The Golf Room specialises in delivering a fun, flexible indoor golf experience for everyone.

Across four simulator bays, visitors can play more than 1000 world-class courses, explore practice modes and fun challenges, each with ultra-accurate tracking and instant swing feedback.

For those looking for an elevated experience, the premium suite offers complete privacy with dual screens, swing cameras, an AI coach and video tools to help players fine-tune their game, creating an immersive, realistic and highly interactive way to enjoy golf.

Each setup is powered by state-of-the-art Uneekor and GSPro technology, capturing every shot with precision and providing real-time analysis on spin, flight, landing and even swing speed.

"Beyond the technology, we're really proud of the atmosphere we've created - a space where friends can have fun, families can spend quality time together and golfers can practice and improve at their own pace, without pressure or waiting," said Laura.

Driven by a passion to create a world-class experience locally, the idea for The Golf Room grew from the couple's visits to similar venues across Australia.

"We wanted to give the Wodonga community a place to enjoy golf all year round, rain or shine. We'd played at similar venues in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, and thought, 'Why not bring that experience home?'"

As locals with a young family, Laura and Aaron wanted to create a welcoming environment for everyone, including their own young boys, to enjoy sport and connection close to home.

This isn't their first business venture, with the couple recently moving their remedial massage clinic, Alignment Lab, over the border from Albury to Wodonga.

To complement this move, Laura said it's been a rewarding process building The Golf Room together as a family.

"We've been so impressed with how Wodonga has grown over the last five years, and we wanted to be part of that momentum by creating a new kind of recreation space for locals to enjoy," she said.

A small but growing team of part-time staff also work alongside the family to deliver a seamless, friendly experience for all who walk through the doors.

"For us, the most rewarding aspect has been about seeing people connect. Being able to provide a space that's both fun and supportive is what excites us most as we continue to grow," Laura concluded.

Brush up on your tee off or learn to putt for the first time - The Golf Room is the perfect place for golfers, friends and family to gather and play.

Your chance to master the fairway awaits at U4/1a Moorefield Park Rd, Wodonga from 10am to 9pm Tuesday to Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday.
