Iconic buildings and landmarks all over Australia, including the Wodonga Water Tower, will light up in support of Jean Hailes' annual Women's Health Week, as a timely reminder to all women to set aside time for their health and wellbeing.
Jean Hailes for Women's Health invites all women and girls to join the week - this year from 6-10 September - to find the support, connection and information they need to be healthy in mind and body.
The past 18 months have taught us all, among other things, the importance of good health, says Women's Health Week campaign manager Brenda Jones.
"We urge women and girls to make sure their health and wellbeing is a priority, and to give it the attention it deserves this Women's Health Week," says Ms Jones
"Once again we're thrilled to have the support of organisations and landmarks around Australia helping us shine a light on women's health. We hope these eye-catching light installations will help raise awareness of this important women's health campaign."
Shining bright in the campaign colours of purple and orange will be:
Victoria - Melbourne Town Hall, AAMI Park, Transurban's Bolte Bridge and Soundtube, Wodonga Water Tower (Wodonga), Ballarat Town Hall and Lake Wendouree fountains (Ballarat). ACT - MoAD (Old Parliament House) and Telstra Tower. South Australia - Terrens Footbridge, Adelaide Oval and Adelaide Convention Centre. Western Australia - The Bell Tower, Council House and Trafalgar Bridge. New South Wales - Newcastle Clock Tower. Queensland - Suncorp Stadium and Kurilpa Bridge. Tasmania - Kennedy Lane, Elizabeth Mall, Franklin Square Fountain and Railway Fountain.
