Woman and teenager injured in two-car collision at Tamworth

A woman and teenage girl endured serious injuries in a multiple vehicle collision at Tamworth on the weekend.

About 11.35am (Saturday 22 June 2019) the pair travelled south on Manilla Road, Oxley Vale in a Hyundai when a collision involving a second vehicle occurred at the intersection of Carrol Road.

Following impact, the Hyundai has veered through a fence and hit a tree.

The driver, a 67-year-old woman, and the 14-year-old female passenger, suffered serious injuries as a result of the secondary impact.

They were trapped for some time before being extricated by Ambulance Rescue.

They were taken to Tamworth Base Hospital in serious conditions for treatment.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 24-year-old woman, and her passenger were not injured.

She was breath tested at the scene and provided a negative result.
