Detectives have arrested a woman as they continue to search for a man following the alleged stabbing of another man in Port Macquarie last week.
About 1.25am on Friday 2 January 2026, emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing at a service station on Gordon Street.
Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics who treated a 30-year-old man suffering a stab wound. He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition and has since been airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced under Strike Force Lonerock.
About 6.30pm that day, officers executed a search warrant at a unit on Gordon Street, Port Macquarie. A 27-year-old man was arrested at the unit and later charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He remains before the courts.
Following inquiries, including a public appeal for information, detectives arrested a 23-year-old woman on Lake Road, Port Macquarie, about 2pm today (Friday 9 January 2026).
She was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.
As inquiries continue, detectives are continuing to search for a man who may be able to assist investigators.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early 20s, of medium build, with short dark hair. He is depicted wearing light-coloured pants, a dark long-sleeve top, and a baseball cap. He was last seen riding a bicycle.
