Woman Arrested, Meth Found in Stolen Car, Ascot Vale

Police have arrested a woman after she allegedly attempted to avoid police in Melbourne's northern suburbs on Wednesday, 16 July.
Officers first sighted the car doing 110km/h in a 60km/h zone at the intersection of Mount Alexander and Maribyrnong roads in Ascot Vale about 3.35am.
Police attempted to intercept the car but the driver sped off.
The Air Wing was called in and followed the vehicle from overhead as it was driven through several suburbs before being dumped in Egginton St, Brunswick West.
The driver fled the scene on foot but was arrested nearby a short time later.
A 45-year-old Gladstone Park woman will now be interviewed.
Checks revealed the vehicle was stolen on 29 June.
Officers also seized a significant quantity of methamphetamine from the car.
Investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
