Investigations are underway following a crash near Wollongong today, NSW Police say.
Just before 8am tomorrow, police and emergency services responded to reports of a two-car crash at Hunter and Napier Streets, Balgownie.
Officers were told a man driving one vehicle assaulted a woman driving the other vehicle after the crash.
The man left the scene prior to police arriving.
The woman suffered facial injuries and was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a serious condition.
Police are investigating.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
