Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted during a home invasion at Woy Woy overnight.
About 11.30pm yesterday (Thursday 11 March 2021), officers were called to a home at Beachfront Parade, St Huberts Island, following reports a woman had been assaulted by an unknown man during a home invasion.
Police were told the man repeatedly punched and kicked the woman before stealing personal items, including her handbag.
When police arrived at the home, they located a 47-year-old woman with a number of injuries.
She was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.
Officers from Brisbane Water Police District established a crime scene at the home and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
As investigations continue, police are urging anyone with information, or dashcam footage from the area, to come forward.
