A woman will face court charged after an investigation into an allegedly unprovoked chemical assault in Sydney's northwest earlier this year.
About 6.15pm on Wednesday 14 May 2025, an unknown woman allegedly approached a 27-year-old woman who was walking along Norfolk Road, North Epping and splashed an unknown liquid into her face before leaving the scene.
The woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Ryde Hospital for treatment of chemical burns.
Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command established strike force Brockman to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries about 8am today (Friday 12 September 2025), detectives with the assistance of Northwest Metropolitan Operational Support Group arrested a 36-year-old woman at a home on Coonanbarra Road, Wahroonga.
She was taken to Hornsby Police Station and charged with use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and stalk / intimidate intend fear physical harm.
She was given conditional bail to appear before Hornsby Local Court on Tuesday 7 October 2025.
