Woman charged after hospital assault in Lismore

A woman has been charged after allegedly assaulting a hospital employee at Lismore Base Hospital, NSW Police say.

Just after 12pm today (Saturday 11 November 2018), a woman attended Lismore Base Hospital seeking treatment.

Police will allege the woman threatened staff members, and when a male staff member attempted to intervene, the woman produced a syringe and lunged at the man.

He was treated for a laceration to his left arm.

Police from Richmond Police District attended and arrested a 39-year-old woman.

She was taken to Lismore Police Station where she was charged with:

- Use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence

- Affray

- Cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent

- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm

- Common assault (x2)

- Resist officer in execution of their duty

The woman was refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court tomorrow (Sunday 11 November 2018).
