Woman charged after security guard assaulted in Newtown

A woman will face court later this month after the alleged assault of a security guard at Newtown overnight. , NSW Police say

About 11.30pm today a group of five to six women, who were in the company of a male, were asked to leave a licensed premises on King Street due to their level of intoxication.

It will be alleged the group returned to the hotel and an argument broke out between the group and a security guard.

The argument turned physical and the security guard was assaulted, leaving him with a bleeding nose.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station. She was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The woman was granted bail and will appear in Newtown Local Court on 24 August 2017.
