Woman Charged in Caringbah Hospital Vandalism

A woman has been charged after two hospitals in Sydney south were allegedly vandalised overnight.

Just before 4am (Tuesday 28 October 2025), officers attached to Sutherland Police Area Command arrested a 42-year-old woman on Parkside Ave, Miranda, for breach of bail. She was taken to Sutherland Police Station.

About 4.20am, police received a report of alleged vandalism at two hospitals in Caringbah (Tuesday 28 October 2025).

Police attended and were told a woman had entered the grounds of a hospital on Kareena Road, Caringbah, about 12.20am today (Tuesday 28 October 2025), and allegedly cut both the water and gas mains, before activating fire hoses.

About 1.30am, the woman entered the grounds of another hospital on Kareena Road, Caringbah, and allegedly switched off the gas main.

Following inquiries and a review of CCTV, police will allege the 42-year-old woman was the same person who attended the two hospitals.

The woman has now been charged with public nuisance (two counts), enter prescribed premises of any person without lawful excuse (two counts), sabotage, and destroy or damage property and breach of bail.

She was also charged with tamper with fire alarm or fire signalling apparatus, trespass on protected premises in relation to an alleged incident at a Darlinghurst hostel yesterday (Monday 27 October 2025).

The Sutherland woman was refused bail to appear before Sutherland Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 29 October 2025).
