A woman has been charged with assault, following an alleged unprovoked assault in Nowra.
About 11.10am on Sunday 22 March 2026, emergency services were called to Kinghorne Street, Nowra following reports of assault.
Members of the public assisted the 81-year-old man before NSW Ambulance arrived and treated the man for facial injuries, before he was transported to Shoalhaven Hospital.
Officers attached to South Coast Police District responded and were told the man was allegedly punched to the face, before he fell backwards. The woman allegedly fled the scene.
About 8.10am on Wednesday 25 March 2026, officers were patrolling Nowra CBD, as part of Operation Restore, when they sighted the 56-year-old woman allegedly involved.
She was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station.
She was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 3 on Wednesday 25 March 2026, where she was formally refused bail to reappear at Nowra Local Court on Tuesday 7 March 2026.
