Woman charged over abduction of man in Waterloo

A woman will appear in court tomorrow after allegedly abducting and assaulting a man in Waterloo last month, NSW Police say.

Just before 2.30pm on Wednesday 22 June 2016, emergency services were called to South Dowling Street following reports of an injured man outside an apartment complex.

NSW Ambulance Paramedic treated the 25-year-old man, before he was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he underwent surgery for a number of stab wounds.

Officers attached to Kuring Gai Local Area Command commenced investigations into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 1.30 pm today, a 24-year-old woman was arrested at a unit on Walker Street, Redfern.

She was taken to Redfern Police Station, where she was charged by virtue of an arrest warrant for the offences of wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and, take/detain in company with intent to get advantage occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police will allege in court that the man had been kidnapped from Hornsby and stabbed, before he escaped from a vehicle.

The woman was refused bail, and will appear at Hornsby Local Court tomorrow.

A 49-year-old man remains before the courts, also in relation to the alleged attempted abduction.

The injured man has since been released from hospital.
