Detectives from the Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a woman over the alleged assault of a 4-year-old girl, Queensland Police say.
The arrest follows an extensive investigation by detectives after the child was admitted to hospital with serious facial injuries, including a fracture and severe bruising, this week.
The child and woman are known to each other and the alleged assault occurred at a Gold Coast home.
A 21-year-old Gold Coast woman has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on March 24, 2017.
