Woman charged over Five Dock assault, rob, NSW

A woman is due in court today charged over the alleged assault and robbery of a man in Five Dock almost two weeks ago, NSW Police say.

Police have been told an 88-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a woman who forced her way into his unit on Friend Avenue, Five Dock, about 3pm on Friday 27 October 2017.

The woman allegedly fled with his wallet, cash and cigarettes; the man was treated for bruising, swelling and cuts.

Police from Burwood Local Area Command initiated an investigation and arrested a 33-year-old woman on William Street, Five Dock, the following day (Saturday 28 October 2017).

She was taken to Burwood Police Station then transferred to Concord Hospital.

Yesterday afternoon (Thursday 9 November 2017), the woman was released into the custody of detectives and was taken to Burwood Police Station.

She has now been charged with

• Aggravated robbery

• Dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception

• Dishonestly obtain property by deception, and

• Dishonestly obtain property by deception (attempted).

She was refused bail to appear in Burwood Local Court today (Friday 10 November 2017).
