Woman charged over thefts from schools in Fairfield

A woman has been charged following investigations into several alleged thefts from primary schools in Eastern Sydney and South West Sydney over the past few months, NSW Police say.

About 9.30pm yesterday, police stopped a woman driving in Brighton Le Sands.

A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly located several items believed to be stolen from schools in the Fairfield area in May and June.

The 39-year-old woman was taken to St George Police Station where she was charged with:

- Break and enter;

- Larceny (x20);

- Dishonestly obtain property by deception (x2); and

- Breach of bail

The woman was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
