Woman charged with high- range drink driving after crash north of Grafton, NSW

A woman has been charged with high-range drink driving after crashing her car with her child inside on the North Coast, NSW Police say.

About 8:20pm yesterday, police were called following reports of a car hitting a power pole on South Arm School Road, Brushgrove, 20km north of Grafton.

Police attached to Coffs /Clarence Local Area Command arrived and spoke a 35-year-old woman who was the driver of the vehicle.

The woman and the 8-year-old boy escaped injury

The driver was subjected to a breath test which returned a positive result.

The woman was arrested and taken to Maclean Police Station where she allegedly returned a breath analysis of 0.192.

The woman was issued a field court attendance notice for high-range drink driving and her licence was suspended.

She is due to appear before Maclean Local Court on Tuesday 11 October 2016.

The matter has also been reported to Family and Community Services.
