Woman charged with high-range drink driving with children in car in West Hoxton

Police have charged a woman after she was allegedly found to be driving a vehicle, with three children in the back seat, while under the influence of alcohol, NSW Police say.

About 5.40pm today, officers from Green Valley Local Area Command stopped a vehicle southbound on Cowpasture Road, West Hoxton.

A woman, aged 37, was driving the vehicle with three rear passengers including an 8-month old baby, and two children aged three and six. Police will allege the three-year-old child was unrestrained.

The driver was subjected to a roadside breath test which allegedly provided a positive reading.

She was arrested at the scene and taken to Green Valley Police Station where she allegedly provided a breath analysis reading of 0.159, which is in the high-range category.

Further inquiries revealed the registration of the vehicle she was driving had expired.

The woman was charged with high-range PCA, drive unregistered motor vehicle, use uninsured vehicle and drive with child unrestrained.

The woman was given conditional bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on Thursday June 30, 2016.

Her licence was suspended.
