Woman dies after being hit by minibus at Crows Nest, NSW

A woman has died after she was struck by a minibus at Crows Nest this morning, NSW Police say.

Police believe the woman was city-bound on the Warringah Freeway when she stopped due to a flat tyre shortly before 12.40am tomorrow.

Another motorist had stopped to render assistance, when the woman was struck by a minibus, also travelling east.

The woman sustained critical injuries and died at the scene. She is believed to be aged in her 20s.

The man rendering assistance was not physically injured but is being treated for shock.

The male driver of the minibus has been taken for mandatory breath blood and testing.

The eastbound lanes of the freeway are closed between Reserve Road and the Lane Cove Tunnel; motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU), are en route.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
