Woman dies after car hits tree at Bellingen

A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state's north this morning.

Shortly before 6.30am today (Sunday 13 October 2019), emergency services were called to Waterfall Way, west of Bellingen, after reports a 4WD has lost control and hit a tree.

The female driver and sole occupant of the vehicle could not be revived and died at the scene. She is yet to be formally identified.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
