Woman dies after car park crash, NSW

A woman has died after an accident in a car park on the Central Coast, NSW Police say.

About 3.30pm today (Wednesday 2 May 2018), an 85-year-old woman was in her vehicle in the car park of a car dealership on Charlton Street, Woy Woy, when she got out of the car in order for a 72-year-old man to assist her in reversing.

As the man got into the car, it suddenly travelled in reverse, knocking the woman to the ground and driving over the top of her.

It then came to a stop wedged between two parked cars.

Ambulance Paramedics attended and the woman was treated on scene before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital where she died.

Police from Brisbane Water Police District are investigating the incident and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
