Woman dies after crash at Hartley

An investigation is underway after a woman died following a two-vehicle crash in the state's Central Tablelands yesterday.

About 4.40pm (Sunday 11 December 2022), emergency services were called to the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Jenolan Caves Road, Hartley, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Chifley Police District found a white Mitsubishi Magna and black Toyota Prado had collided.

The female passenger of the Mitsubishi was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she could not be revived.

She is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged 35.

The driver of the Mitsubishi – a 27-year-old man – was conveyed to hospital for minor injuries and mandatory testing.

The occupants of the Toyota Prado – a 36-year-old woman and three children aged between six and 10 – were also conveyed to hospital for minor injuries and the driver for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit, and an investigation commenced into the circumstance surrounding the crash.
