Woman Dies After Crash In Melton

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after a woman was struck by a truck in Melton on 2 January.

It is alleged the truck struck the woman on Coburns Road about 10am.

Ambulance crews treated the 74-year-old Brookside woman at the scene, and she was transported to hospital but later died in hospital on 4 January.

The 22-year-old Tarneit man has been charged with unlicensed driving, failing to stop at a red light and dangerous driving causing death.

He has been remanded into custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrate's Court on 8 May.
