Woman dies after Eagle Point crash

A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in Eagle Point last Monday (20 May).

Police have been told the car was travelling east along Bay Road when it veered off the road and struck a power pole about 2.30pm.

The driver, a 79-year-old Bairnsdale man, and his passenger, a 79-year-old woman also from Bairnsdale, were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The woman later died in hospital on Saturday 25 May.

Local police and Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are still working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
