Woman dies after McCrae collision

A woman has died in hospital following a collision in McCrae on Thursday, 30 December.

Emergency services were called to Catherine Street to reports of a collision involving a car and pedestrian about 11.30am.

The pedestrian, a 76-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with critical injuries and sadly died overnight.

The driver of the car, a 27-year-old Dromana woman, was uninjured and stopped at the scene.

She was initially charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury and bailed to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 6 January 2022.

Given the pedestrian has since died the charge is expected to be upgraded to dangerous driving causing death.
