Woman dies in crash at Quirindi

A report is being prepared for the Coroner after a woman died in a collision in the state's north-west yesterday.

About 4pm (Sunday 5 September 2021), emergency services were called to the Kamilaroi Highway near Duke Street, Quirindi, about 70kms south of Tamworth, following reports a Holden Commodore and cattle truck had collided.

The Holden driver, an 86-year-old woman, died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 34-year-old man, was uninjured. He was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Oxley Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
