Woman dies in hospital after Abbotsford collision

A woman has died in hospital following a collision in Abbotsford last week.

The pedestrian is believed to have been crossing Hoddle Street when she was hit by a car near the intersection of Johnston Street on Friday 25 February about 6.40am.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene to assist and emergency services were called.

The 90-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment where she later died.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and at this stage believe the pedestrian may have been crossing the road away from the main crossing and against a red pedestrian light.
