Woman dies in North Geelong collision

A woman has died after a multi-vehicle collision in North Geelong this morning.

Police understand four vehicles travelling south collided near Sharon Court about 11.20am.

The female passenger of one of the vehicles, who is yet to be formally identified, was transported to hospital with critical injuries and later died.

The male driver of the same vehicle was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two other vehicles, a truck and van, contained single occupants.

They were both transported to hospital with minor injuries for observation.

The driver of a truck, a 50-year-old Belmont man, stopped at the scene and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The investigation into the exact cause of the collision remains ongoing.
