A woman has died after being pulled from a lake in the state's Snowy Mountains region yesterday.
About 5.20pm (Monday 2 March 2020), emergency services were called to a boat ramp on Kosciuszko Road, Lake Jindabyne, following reports a woman had been pulled from the water.
Police have been told the woman was swimming, before she disappeared under the water and did not resurface.
Upon arrival, a NSW Ambulance paramedic entered the water on a paddle board and located the woman. She was brought to shore with the assistance of police and treated at the scene, but died a short time later.
While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of a 36-year-old woman.
Officers from Monaro Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
