Woman hit by car

A woman is in a serious condition after being hit by a car at West Ryde today.

About 4.20pm (Friday 11 September 2020), emergency services were called to Anthony Road, near West Parade, after reports a pedestrian was hit by a car.

A woman, believed to be aged in her 90s, was treated at the scene before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with several fractures and head injuries.

The driver, a man aged in his 30s, was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing. He is assisting police with their inquiries.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command attended, with officers from the Crash Investigation Unit currently examining the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time or who has dashcam vision to come forward.
