Woman injured 'roof hopping' in Newcastle

A woman has been hospitalised after falling several metres whilst ‘roof hopping’ in Newcastle overnight, NSW Police say.

About 11.50pm on Saturday 7 April 2018, a 23-year-old woman and a friend were ‘roof hopping’ between buildings in Laman Street at Cooks Hill.

It appears that the woman misjudged the distance between two buildings and fell 8-10 metres to the ground.

The woman suffered back injuries and emergency services were contacted.

After being treated at the scene the woman was conveyed by Ambulance paramedics to John Hunter Hospital for assessment and treatment.

Her injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

Officers from Newcastle City Police District attended and continue with their inquiries into the incident.
