Woman Reported Over Stolen Parrot

A woman was reported after allegedly stealing a bird from a Melrose Park pet store on the weekend.

It will be alleged about 3pm on Saturday 9 May, the woman entered the South Road, Melrose Park store, opened a cage and stole a live bird, concealing it under her top.

Following investigations, today, Wednesday 13 May, a 29-year-old Brighton woman was reported for theft and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Unfortunately, the turquoise conure has not yet been located. The stolen parrot has a distinctive red patch above the centre of its beak.
