Woman threatened in Melbourne CBD elevator

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investing after a woman was threatened with a screwdriver and held captive in an apartment building in Melbourne’s CBD last month, Victoria Police say.

The 24-year-old woman returned to her Little Lonsdale Street home about 3.30am on Saturday, 3 August.

She has entered the elevator and been followed inside by a man who threatened her with a screwdriver.

The victim has managed to run to the safety of her apartment and the offender fled.

Investigators have released images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to be Asian in appearance, with black hair and between 163-165cm tall.

He was wearing a dark-coloured zipped hoodie, with a white baseball cap with "WEST" written on the front in black.
