Woman treated after crash at Plympton, South Australia

A Glenelg North has been treated in hospital following a crash at Plympton overnight.

Just before 11.30pm on Tuesday 16 February, police were called to a take-away restaurant on Anzac Highway after a car had crashed through a fence.

On arrival, they located a Magna sedan, out the front of a group of units and damage to two parked vehicles.

Police spoke to 62-year-old woman who was driving the Magna, she appeared gross intoxicated and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

After speaking to witnesses, police established the woman driving the Magna had just left a nearby drive-thru bottle shop, hit the accelerator instead of the brake careered out of control through a fence to the next-door take-away seafood restaurant, collided with the permanent outdoor dining furniture, through another fence and then hit two parked cars.

The Glenelg North was conveyed to Flinders Medical Centre for treatment to minor injuries where blood will be taken an analysed to establish her alcohol reading. She is likely to face driving charges once the blood results are known.

The Magna was towed form the scene.
