Women abused, spat on – Marrickville

Inner West Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into an incident that occurred at Marrickville yesterday.

About 3pm (Monday 30 March 2020), two women aged, 23 and 19, were crossing Petersham Road when a woman directed racial slurs towards the pair.

When the woman attempted to kick one of the girls a bystander intervened telling the woman to leave. As she walked away the woman spat towards the 19-year-old woman hitting her in the eye.

The woman left the scene and continued to abuse the women.

The 19-year-old was assisted by witnesses to flush her eye out and seek medical assistance.

The incident was reported to police and is currently under investigation.

Police are now searching for a woman who may be able to assist with inquiries.

She is described as being Caucasian appearance, about 18-years old, 165cm tall with a slim build and brown hair. At the time she was wearing a grey t-shirt and track pants, with a black jacket tied around her waist and black joggers.
