Camden Council's sixth annual International Women's Day Gala is just over a month away.
The event, to be held on Thursday 5 March, 5.30-9pm, at Camden Civic Centre, will honour International Women's Day by celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women around the world.
Observed annually on 8 March, International Women's Day also serves as a global call to action to accelerate gender equality. Each year, communities, organisations and advocacy groups worldwide unite to celebrate women's achievements and rally for progress.
This year's theme is #GiveToGain, which emphasises the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organisations and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase.
The Platinum Sponsor for this year's event is Baba's Milk, a brand steeped in tradition, love and community. Inspired by Baba, a 76-year-old matriarch whose warmth and generosity have touched generations, Baba's Milk brings the rich, creamy flavors of her Balkan heritage to every sip.
Baba's Milk Owner, Lepa Flaiban, said the organisation was proud to be the Platinum Sponsor of Council's International Women's Day Gala.
"Supporting women is at the heart of who we are," she said. "Founded on Baba's belief that milk builds strong bones, our products are made with clean Australian ingredients and crafted right here in Australia. Every can we produce helps support Indigenous women healing from domestic violence.
"As an Australian-owned brand, backing initiatives that celebrate, empower and protect women is not just important to us - it's our responsibility."
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said she was looking forward to standing alongside and spotlighting women's achievements at the much-loved event.
"International Women's Day and our wonderful Gala is a powerful reminder of the strength, talent and resilience of women in our community and beyond," she said. "Our community is full of women who lead, inspire and create meaningful change every day.
"We want to ensure every girl growing up in Camden sees a world where her ambitions are supported, her achievements are celebrated and her potential is sky high."
Tickets are $110 per person or $1,000 for a table of 10 and include a two-course meal, drinks package and gift.
