Victorian fans will get six WNCL home games under lights after Cricket Australia confirmed the 2026-27 women's domestic cricket schedule this afternoon.
Junction Oval's recently installed broadcast-quality lights will see Victoria open its WNCL campaign with back-to-back day-night fixtures against South Australia on September 29 and October 1.
These are two of the six WNCL games set to be played at Junction Oval this season, with the team also facing Queensland and ACT under lights. The squad will travel to Tasmania, Western Australia and New South Wales across an action-packed summer of cricket.
Victoria goes into this WNCL season with an ambitious young squad, featuring some of Australia's finest cricketers. With a fantastic mix of world-class players and emerging talent, the Women's team is hoping to forge a bright future for Victorian cricket.
Cricket Victoria's Head of Female Cricket, Kirby Short, said she was excited for the opportunity that awaits the squad this season.
"It was a tough WNCL season for us last year, and through our thorough review process, honest staff and player reflection and intentional planning, we are seeing incremental and positive shifts in our program," Short said.
"As we continue to build a program we are proud of, we are looking forward to testing our progress under the lights of Junction Oval when the season commences."
