Labor is ensuring our regional communities can stay active with upgrades to local spaces.
Minister Settle joined Member for Bass Jordan Crugnale today to visit the State Coal Mine Rescue Station Arts Centre in Wonthaggi to celebrate its completion.
The arts centre has installed new flooring thanks to more than $48,000 from the Carroll Labor Government.
Works have since installed a new floating wooden floor for the building, making it safer for all ages and abilities.
Home to a gallery, art classes, music lessons, creative-based wellbeing projects and a ballet barre class, the arts centre plays an important role in keeping residents happy, healthy and fulfilled.
The Ballet Barre for Seniors Program has been a particular success, supporting health, fitness and social connectivity for locals, while helping participants to remain mobile and independent.
This latest project builds on a previous government investment of $50,000 to help the centre improve accessibility and privacy at the site, and to expand the number of programs being offered for community members.
More than $50 billion has been delivered through the Carroll Labor Government over the past decade to make our regions even better places to live, work, visit and study.
Labor is delivering the infrastructure Victoria needs, while Jess Wilson's Liberals are planning $40 billion in cuts.
As stated by Minister for Rural and Regional Development Michaela Settle
