Wonthella Fatal Crash - Information still sought, WA

Major Crash Investigators with the assistance of Mid-West Gascoyne Traffic officers are still seeking information to assist with their investigation into a fatal crash that occurred in Wonthella on Tuesday, 24 January 2017.

Just before 8pm a blue and white coloured Honda CBR motorcycle was travelling north along the North West Coastal Highway. As the Honda motorcycle turned right into Eighth Street it collided with a green coloured Jeep Cherokee, WA Police say.

A 14 year old boy from Spalding who was a pillion passenger on the motorcycle received critical injuries and was conveyed to Geraldton Hospital where he died a short time later.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 17 year old boy from Geraldton, received serious injuries and was also taken to Geraldton Hospital.

The 22 year old male driver of the Jeep was not injured.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who saw the Honda motorcycle in the Geraldton/Wonthella area between 7:30pm and 8pm on Tuesday, 24 January 2017.

Anyone who saw the crash or the Honda motorcycle, or the Jeep Cherokee prior to the crash is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
