Key stakeholders have toured the Woodbury Reserve redevelopment, marking an important milestone in the delivery of upgraded sporting and community facilities for the Hawkesbury.
Hawkesbury City Council hosted the site tour on 9 April 2026, with attendance from the Mayor, the Hawkesbury Sports Council, funding partners from the Australian and New South Wales Governments, representatives from Glossodia Rural Fire Service, and local cricket and football groups.
The tour provided a first-hand look at construction progress for Phase 1 of the redevelopment, with Council and project representatives guiding attendees through the site and outlining upcoming works.
The visit also created an opportunity for meaningful discussions with local sporting groups, ensuring the upgraded facilities align with the needs of the community now and into the future.
The Hon. Peter Primrose MLC, Government Spokesperson for Hawkesbury, said the Woodbury Reserve Upgrade is a significant outcome for both Glossodia and the wider Hawkesbury community.
"The Woodbury Reserve Upgrade is great news for Glossodia and the whole Hawkesbury Community. The new facilities will encourage healthy, outdoor activities at a special place already loved by locals and visitors."
Susan Templeman MP, Federal Member for Macquarie, said the next phase of works will build on the already completed skate park and pump track at Woodbury Reserve, continuing to bring the broader vision for the site to life.
"This next phase of work will complement the Skate park and Pump track already constructed here at Woodbury Reserve.
I'm looking forward to the completion of this stage as it will really start to bring the concept of this design to life for the community.
And of course, the sporting clubs are eagerly anticipating the following phase of the project, which will see sporting field and amenities upgrades delivered."
Mayor Les Sheather said the tour highlighted the strong collaboration driving the project forward.
"It was fantastic to welcome our funding partners and local sporting groups on site to see the progress being made at Woodbury Reserve," Mayor Sheather said.
"This redevelopment will deliver high-quality facilities that support participation in sport and strengthen our local community."
The Woodbury Reserve redevelopment is funded by the Australian Government through the Priority Community Infrastructure Program and the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program, in association with Hawkesbury City Council.
The BMX pump track and Mountain Bike Trails were constructed with additional funding from the NSW Government's Open Spaces Program: Places to Play grant.
Construction of Phase 1 is progressing well, with further updates to be provided as the project continues.
