MidCoast Council has once again partnered with Paul Bennet Airshows to bring the Barrington Coast Airshow back to the region.
The world-class event will return to the skies above Taree on Saturday 7 November. Following from the success of the 2024 event, the Barrington Coast Airshow is expected to attract more than 6,000 visitors to the region.
Headlining the biannual airshow is Paul Bennet, an internationally recognised airshow pilot and the current Australian Unlimited Freestyle Champion.
The Barrington Coast Airshow will also feature a diverse lineup of aerial performances, including aerobatic displays, warbirds and on-ground entertainment including exhibits, amusement rides and food vendors.
Mayor Claire Pontin has welcomed the airshows return to the Taree Regional Airport.
"The Barrington Coast Airshow has quickly become one of our region's signature events and Council is proud to support it" Cr Pontin said.
MidCoast Council has provided a sponsorship package for the airshow and has worked with organisers closely to deliver an unforgettable experience for aviation enthusiasts and families alike.
"With more than 6,000 visitors expected to visit the Barrington Coast for the one-day event, we anticipate it will provide over $2 million in economic impact for our local businesses and be a great way to connect our local communities," Cr Pontin said.
The Barrington Coast Air Show will be delivered biannually until at least 2030 with support provided through MidCoast Councils Grants, Donations and Sponsorship Program.
"By providing long-term certainty, we're giving organisers the confidence to grow these events and helping local businesses prepare for more visitors. More visitors means more people staying, dining, shopping and exploring everything the MidCoast has to offer."
