Kempsey Shire Council are working hard to address the ongoing impacts of the recent floods in the Stuarts Point, Fishermans Reach and Grassy Head communities.

Fishermans Reach Road is damaged and still covered in water in parts. During last week's Community Catch-up at Stuarts Point Hall it was clear that the community of Fishermans Reach were still very concerned about the impact of the damage to the road.

Council's roads team have started work today to deliver a temporary solution.

Fishermans Reach Road will be closed 8.30am – 3.30pm during the repairs.

When completed, the road will be constructed to allow one lane access with signs in place to direct traffic.

A permanent solution to repair Fishermans Reach Road will be planned following survey and design works.
