WorkSafe Month 2025 Highlights Safety And Wellbeing In Every Job, Every Day

Tasmanian Government

Tasmanian employers and workers are encouraged to put work health, safety and wellbeing at the top of their list this October by joining one of nearly 60 free events available during WorkSafe Month 2025.

Throughout October, WorkSafe Month shines a spotlight on safer, healthier and stronger workplaces under the theme 'Safety: every job, every day'.

To mark the campaign, Tasmanian landmarks including the Tasman Bridge, Launceston Town Hall and the paranaple Centre will glow orange as a visible reminder of our shared responsibility for workplace safety and wellbeing.

Minister for Small Business, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Guy Barnett, said WorkSafe Month is designed to help build safer, healthier, and more productive workplaces.

"WorkSafe Month enables workplaces of all sizes and industries to identify and act on opportunities to improve safety and wellbeing," Minister Barnett said.

"These are not just numbers; they represent people in our community who have experienced the impact of unsafe work.

"By sharing knowledge and experiences, we can help build stronger and safer workplace cultures.

"We encourage participants to leave with at least one gold nugget of learning they can apply in their own workplace.

"WorkSafe Month provides free access to expert knowledge, practical tools and real-life examples that help businesses and workers improve safety outcomes.

"The focus is not only on reducing injuries and illnesses, but also on promoting long-term cultural change, where safety and wellbeing are built into the way Tasmanians work every day.

"By prioritising both physical and mental health, we can work together to move our State forward."

The WorkSafe Month program offers a wide range of in-person and online sessions, with practical advice, expert speakers and real-life examples that people can put into practice straight away.

It's also a chance for workers, employers and industry leaders to connect, share ideas and build stronger workplace cultures across Tasmania.
