World Class Comedy at Lennox Head: Ballina Shire

World Class Comedy at Lennox Head

The Comedy Commune are delighted to bring the Spring Comedy Gala to the Lennox Head Cultural Centre on Saturday 3 September 2022, with some of the biggest names in comedy set to hit the stage.

"We welcome the Comedy Gala back to the Lennox Head Cultural Centre for the third time this year, with the final show booked in December. These shows are fast gaining a reputation amongst professional comics in Australia and it's now on the 'to do list' in comedy ranks" said Roberta O'Brien, Coordinator Community Facilities for Ballina Shire Council.

Local comic and founder of The Comedy Commune John Peacock said, "We couldn't be happier with the Gala, the line ups, the audiences and the venue. Lennox has really embraced the concept and reacted in a way we could only have hoped for. The line ups are just getting better and better. This time we've got a comic from Melbourne, Simon Taylor, who was just on the Jimmy Fallon show, coming to the Lennox Head Cultural Centre. We can't wait for this one."

Joining Simon Taylor, who was also nominated for best show at The Adelaide Fringe Festival, is Ashley Fils-Amie. He was voted the best MC at this year's Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Damien Power hosted the Oxfam Gala Showcase at The Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2021, and is also appearing at the Gala.

Marcus Ryan is an international touring comedian who has travelled the world telling jokes for 20 years and James McCann from Adelaide is appearing following a stellar festival season and multiple award nominations.

The Comedy Commune provides up and coming comics the chance to perform alongside pro comics. Saturday's show will have Brisbane comic William Wang, originally from China, doing stand-up comedy in his second language, he is definitely one to watch.

With a line up like this, in a world class venue, and food and beverages from Club Lennox, The Lennox Comedy Gala is set to exceed all previous events.

Tickets are $35 and available from www.communityspaces.com.au/v1/tickets.
