Police and emergency services are currently on scene of a serious assault and house fire at Raceview this afternoon, 24 May.
Initial information indicates about 4.30pm, an altercation has occurred between people known to each other on Cascade Street.
During the altercation, a boy in his teens and a woman both sustained stab wounds and a fire has started.
The boy was transported to Queensland Children's Hospital in a critical condition.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mater Hospital in a stable condition.
A man has been taken into custody and is assisting police.
There is no ongoing threat to the community and investigations are ongoing.
