Wounding charge, Zillmere

A 33-year-old Zillmere man has been charged following an alleged assault in Zillmere overnight.

Police will allege shortly after 8pm, at a Tolmie Street address, the 33-year-old and a 25-year-old Moorooka man have had a verbal argument which has escalated into a physical altercation where the Zillmere man stabbed the Moorooka man in the chest with a knife.

The 25-year-old fled on foot to a nearby park and was later transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The two men were known to each other.

The 33-year-old man was arrested and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court later today charged with wounding.
