Wounding charges in Acacia Ridge, QLD

A boy has been charged following the alleged assault of a man in Acacia Ridge overnight, Queensland Police say.

At 8.25pm, a man was talking on a phone outside a business on Beaudesert Rd when he was approached by a boy.

Police will allege that the boy then stabbed the man in the back with a knife before fleeing the scene.

The man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A boy was taken into custody a short time later.

A 12-year-old Pallara boy has been charged with one count of wounding.
