Wounding investigation, Tingalpa

Police have declared a crime scene at a house on Wynnum Road in Tingalpa after a 48-year-old man was stabbed in the backyard of a home at 1.50am this morning (October 27).

The man ran to a nearby service station where he was able to raise the alarm and police found another 26-year-old year old man nearby, taking him into custody.

Both men were transported to hospital, with the 48-year-old sustaining two stab wounds, one to his back and the other to his side.

It is believed the injuries are non-life-threatening.

Investigators processed the crime scene, and the 26-year-old man remains under guard in hospital.

He is expected to be charged later this morning.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen the men running along Wynnum Road at that time, or who may have dash-camera footage, to contact them.

No further information is available at this time.
