Wyndham’s biggest entertainment hub, the Wyndham Cultural Centre, will reopen next week, following a hiatus in 2020 due to Covid-19.
More than 12 shows featuring local and international acts are planned for the next two months, appealing to both adult and child audiences.
See Australian high-energy folk pop duo, Pierce Brothers perform their highly anticipated album ‘Into the Great Unknown’ at the Wyndham Cultural Centre stage on Friday, 16 April. The brothers have performed sold-out shows across Australia, and this will be their first time performing in Wyndham.
Award-winning children’s show ‘The Alphabet or Awesome Science’ will provide school holiday entertainment for Wyndham kids on Saturday, 17 April. This action-packed show features an hour of surprises that freeze, squirt, burst, float and explode!
Australian icon and First Nations leader, Archie Roach AM will bring to the stage ‘Archie Roach: Tell Me Why’ on Sunday 18 April. Archie has given voice to the pain, hope and pride of a generation and holds a very special place within our Community.
The Wyndham Art Gallery will be open between 11am to 4pm, 16 to 18 April and again 23 to 25 April as a last chance to see the visually striking exhibition, FLUID featuring LQBTQI+ artists from across Australia.
The show coincides with the Midsumma Festival and includes works from Ophelia Bakowski, Nathan Beard, Ebony Hickey, James Lemon, Daniel R Marks, Brooke Van Der Linden, Gideon Wilonja, and Paul Yore. Co-curated by Dr. Megan Evans and guest curator Lola-Mae Pink.
Creative City Portfolio Holder, Councillor Marcel Mahfoud said Council was thrilled the centre was reopening and said the program would attract visitors from far and wide.
