Wyndham City is delighted to welcome audiences back to the newly refreshed Wyndham Cultural Centre in July 2025.
The Wyndham Cultural Centre was temporarily closed late last year for refurbishment and maintenance works to the building with a new modern bar, foyer and amenities, upgrades to seating and improvements to the theatre including a hearing loop and new Audio-Visual equipment as well as refurbished dressing rooms and back of house facilities for performers.
Wyndham City's Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw said: "The opening program kicks off in July and is full of entertaining and diverse shows and performances. There is something for everyone."
"With the first show, to light up the theatre, a major music moment and a historic first performance on Saturday 5 July, with two incredible powerhouse bands King Stingray and Electric Fields, performing from 7pm."
King Stingray blends raucous rock'n'roll and the ancient indigenous tradition of Manikay. Wyndham Cultural Centre is excited to host this performance on the back of their successful international tour. Their debut album earned them 5 ARIA nominations and won Album of the Year and Best independent Rock Album at the 2023 AIR awards.
Nominated to represent Australia 2024 in Sweden, electronic music duo Electric Fields combine modern electric-soul music with Aboriginal culture and sing in Pitjantjatjara, Yankunytjatjara and English.
"For classical musical enthusiasts, the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra will mesmerise and enchant audiences with performances including the Australian debut of a forgotten concerto and string orchestra highlights on Saturday 12 July at 7.30pm with Pastorale, that highlights the warmth and beauty of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra's sound."
"For our younger residents, Dinosaur Time Machine on Monday 14 July at 11am and 1pm will thrill and excite children as they learn about the ancient world of dinosaurs, with a life-sized T-Rex and a giant time machine that will keep them entertained for the afternoon."
